WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The role of Technician is crucial in the support of teaching and learning and delivery of the science curriculum at Jesmond Park Academy. In this role you will work under the guidance of the Senior Technician and Head of Faculty. You will develop, adapt, trial and have responsibility for the preparation of technical resources to allow facilitation of practical experiments and demonstrations in the classrooms across all disciplines and key stages. The role will incorporate daily routines and checks, including cleaning, repair and monitoring of stock and equipment, constant communication with the technical team and wider science staff as well as meticulous care and attention to health, safety and risk assessment.

The post requires someone with a keen interest in science, adaptability and effective time management, in order to manage an ever changing work stack, as well as the ability to self-motivate and problem solve under pressure. Training, alongside continued support and guidance will be provided. Although previous experience and a scientific background are desirable they are not essential. You will be flexible to undertake a variety of tasks, willing to learn, and be able to form positive relationships, contributing to the wider school.
