Key Purpose of Job 


To support the Headteacher and Deputy Headteachers in providing strategic and operational leadership of the school, ensuring the highest standards of education, behaviour, inclusion and safeguarding. 


The Assistant Headteacher will lead defined whole-school priority areas, driving improvement through clear systems, effective use of data, and strong staff leadership, while modelling excellent teaching and upholding the Catholic ethos of the school. Through securing consistency, accountability and high expectations, the role ensures that all students achieve their full potential and that the school delivers sustained, high-quality outcomes. 


A core aspect of the role is to work collaboratively with other senior leaders and middle leaders to ensure alignment across all areas of school improvement. 


This includes jointly planning and delivering whole-school priorities, sharing intelligence and evidence, and ensuring that strategies are coherent, complementary and mutually reinforcing. 

Assistant Headteachers will actively support one another’s areas of responsibility, contribute to collective problem-solving, and maintain a united and consistent leadership approach. Through effective collaboration, the SLT will ensure that no area operates in isolation and that the school functions as a cohesive, high-performing organisation focused on achieving the best outcomes for all students.
