Your Role

Teacher – Hatton Special School

We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and dedicated Teacher to join our team at Hatton Special School. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our pupils by creating meaningful learning experiences in a supportive and inclusive environment. You will work closely with a passionate team of professionals, delivering high-quality teaching that meets the individual needs of our students and helps them flourish both academically and personally.

Hatton Special School is a vibrant, welcoming and supportive special primary school located in the heart of Redbridge. We provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 3–11 with complex needs, including autism, social communication differences, Down syndrome and other learning difficulties.

As part of our continued growth and development, we are excited to share that in September 2026 we will open our brand-new Upper School. This expansion will provide further opportunities for our pupils as they move into the next stage of their education and continue their journey of learning and independence. It is an exciting time to join Hatton and to be part of a school community that is growing and evolving.

Our staff are dedicated, skilled and deeply committed to the children we serve. While we are proud of the excellent practice already established across the school, we are always striving to do more. We continually look for new ways to enrich learning, develop our teaching approaches and create opportunities that enable every pupil to succeed.

At Hatton, we celebrate every child’s individuality and believe that every pupil has the potential to grow and thrive. Our vision is to light the fire of curiosity and enquiry in the mind of every child so that they feel confident, valued and inspired to learn. We want our pupils to develop the skills, independence and self-belief they need for their future.

If you are someone who believes in the power of inclusive education, values teamwork and is passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of children with additional needs, Hatton could be the perfect place for you.

All Hatton staff benefit from:

• A strong commitment to ongoing professional development

• A well-resourced and supportive school environment

• Supportive and enthusiastic colleagues and governors

• Staff social events that help build a positive team culture

• Access to wellbeing support

Hatton Special School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff must familiarise themselves with school policies and follow safeguarding procedures upon appointment.
