Teacher – Hatton Special School

Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher who wants to make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? If so, we would love to hear from you!

We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and committed Teacher to join our welcoming team at Hatton Special School. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a school where every child is valued, every achievement is celebrated and staff work together to make a meaningful difference.

About Hatton Special School

Hatton Special School is a vibrant, inclusive and supportive special primary school in Redbridge, providing education for children aged 3–11 with complex needs, including autism, social communication differences, Down syndrome and other learning difficulties.

We currently have 217 pupils across our Lower School, Upper School and two satellite classes based within a mainstream school. Our satellite provision offers valuable opportunities for pupils to learn, develop and engage alongside their mainstream peers.

With approximately 175 staff, we are a large but close-knit school community. Our team is made up of dedicated and skilled professionals who share a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs. We take pride in the positive relationships we build with our pupils, families and one another.

At Hatton, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed. Our vision is to light the fire of curiosity and enquiry in the mind of every pupil, helping them develop confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning.

We are proud of what we have achieved, but we are always looking for ways to improve, develop our practice and provide the very best opportunities for our pupils.

  4. Values teamwork and positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  5. Is enthusiastic, reflective and willing to develop their professional practice.
  6. Brings creativity, patience and a positive approach to the classroom.

What we can offer you

At Hatton, we recognise that our staff are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels supported, valued and encouraged to grow.

All Hatton staff benefit from:

  1. A strong commitment to ongoing professional development.
  2. A well-resourced and supportive teaching environment.
  3. A welcoming and experienced team of colleagues and governors.
  4. Opportunities to share ideas, develop skills and learn from one another.
  5. Staff social events that bring our school community together.
  6. Access to wellbeing support.

Most importantly, you will be joining a school where the work you do genuinely matters and where even the smallest achievements can make the biggest difference.
