About Us

We are a Multi Academy Trust comprising of six secondary schools and one primary school with over 750 employees and over 5,500 students, based in Dudley, West Midlands.

Kinver High School is a thriving, inclusive school with a strong commitment to supporting all students in achieving their full potential.

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and ambitious Teacher of English and Whole School Reading and Literacy Lead to champion a culture where a love of reading thrives among both staff and students. This role will oversee the strategic planning, implementation and quality assurance of our reading initiatives in order to overcome barriers to education.

The successful candidate will work closely with school leaders and staff to embed high‑quality reading and disciplinary literacy approaches across the curriculum. You will plan and deliver purposeful CPD, support teachers to become confident teachers of reading and literacy and promote best practice across the school. A key element of the role includes leading Forensic Reading to ensure a consistently high‑quality oracy education, leading the form time reading programme, alongside supporting transition from KS2 to KS3 to create a smooth and successful literacy journey for all students.

This role also involves quality assuring the Whole School Reading and Literacy policy, contributing the School Improvement Plan, and providing impact reports at school and trust level. This is an exciting opportunity to make a measurable impact on students’ reading, literacy and life chances.

The ideal candidate will share our student-centred values and be an engaging and proactive teacher with a passion for lifelong learning. You must firmly believe and be driven to ensure that every student regardless of starting point, can achieve success, enjoy school, and be engaged with wider school life, to become the best that they can be.

The candidate should be an outstanding classroom practitioner. The successful candidate will build on current developments within the school, Trust and nationally, to continue to improve outcomes and raise aspirations for all students.

We are sure that once you visit us and meet our students, you’ll find that we are the school for you and your career journey, our CPD through school and in partnership with Invictus is exemplary.

We would strongly encourage you to get in touch and arrange a visit. We want the very best staff for our students and look forward finding out if you are that person.

Your role involves regulated activity with children on a daily basis, and this post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. We will require you to complete an on-line DBS if you are appointed.
