About Us

We are a Multi Academy Trust comprising of six secondary schools and one primary school with over 750 employees and over 5,500 students, based in Dudley, West Midlands.

Wombourne High School is a thriving, inclusive school with a strong commitment to supporting all students in achieving their full potential.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, ambitious and highly motivated colleague to the role of Associate Assistant Headteacher.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced middle leader who is ready to broaden their leadership experience and make a significant contribution to the strategic development of the school. The role has been created to provide an aspiring senior leader with the opportunity to gain valuable whole-school leadership experience while working alongside the Senior Leadership Team.

The job description is generic and outlines the core responsibilities of the role. The successful applicant will be assigned a specific area of responsibility based on organisational needs, taking into account their skills, experience, and expertise.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  1. A proven track record of successful leadership within their current role.
  2. Outstanding classroom practice and a commitment to securing the best possible outcomes for all students.
  3. The ability to inspire, motivate and develop colleagues.
  4. Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  5. A commitment to the school's vision, values and continued improvement.

Working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will contribute to the strategic leadership of the school and lead on agreed whole-school priorities. The specific portfolio of responsibilities will be discussed with the successful applicant, taking account of school priorities and individual strengths and experience.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for a colleague aspiring to senior leadership to develop their strategic leadership skills, gain experience of whole-school improvement and prepare for future Assistant Headteacher positions within a supportive and collaborative environment.
