After School Provision Assistant


Location: Warren Primary Academy, Bewcastle Road, Nottingham, NG5 9PJ

Contract: Fixed Term Contract (1 year, with potential to extend) / Term-time only / Part-time

Hours: Monday–Friday, 3:00pm – 6:00pm


About the Role

We are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and reliable After School Provision Assistant to support our wraparound care provision. You will play an important role in creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children can relax, play and continue their development at the end of the school day.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the day-to-day running of the after school provision as part of a team
  2. Help to plan, prepare and deliver high-quality play opportunities that meet children’s developmental needs
  3. Provide a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment where children can play freely
  4. Supervise and engage with children to promote positive behaviour and wellbeing
  5. Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues
  6. Share relevant information about children’s wellbeing or behaviour with appropriate staff
  7. Assist in preparing healthy snacks and maintaining a clean and organised environment
  8. Follow safeguarding, health & safety, confidentiality and behaviour policies at all times
  9. Support children’s emotional wellbeing and, where appropriate, personal care or medical needs
  10. Contribute ideas to improve the provision and attend training when required


About You

We are looking for someone who:

  1. Has experience working with children
  2. Has good communication and interpersonal skills
  3. Is able to work effectively as part of a team and use their own initiative
  4. Can plan and support engaging activities for children
  5. Is organised and able to prioritise tasks
  6. Understands the importance of confidentiality, safeguarding and child protection
  7. Demonstrates a positive attitude towards training and personal development
  8. Is committed to equality, inclusion and supporting all children to thrive


Additional Information

  1. First Aid training (or willingness to complete) is required
  2. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check
  3. The role includes working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
