Your Role

Teacher of Maths

Salary MPS/UPS

FTE 0.6-1.0 FTE

Permanent

Start Date September 2026

Help us to build our school!

Surrey Maths School (SuMS) is a specialist 16-19 Maths School which opened in Guildford in September 2024 to serve students across the South East, aiming to become a hub of excellence for the teaching of the mathematical sciences.

We are looking to appoint a creative, knowledgeable and enthusiastic mathematics teacher to join us in September 2026.  Our curriculum is developed with a key focus on sound pedagogical principles and so maths and further maths are taught as a combined course from the start.

We are a collaborative school and committed to team planning meetings in which we can discuss the approaches, concepts and resources to be used.  Everyone has a voice and a chance to contribute to the development of the curriculum.  We are looking for an inspirational teacher whose values align with our school and who will work with us to actively promote equity and diversity through the planning and delivery of inclusive lessons.

There is much flexibility in the role on offer – we are open to part-time applications as well as applications from candidates who are able to teach physics, computer science, economics or chemistry alongside maths. This is a unique opportunity to work in an environment where there is real excitement and enthusiasm for the mathematical sciences and where you have the chance to shape the minds of the future as part of a dedicated and supportive team.

At Surrey Maths School you will be part of a small, enthusiastic team working with students who are driven and excited by mathematical sciences. Take a look at our SuMS information pack for prospective staff for more information about the broader school and what you can expect from working with us.
