Surrey Maths School (SuMS) is a specialist 16-19 Maths School which opened in Guildford in September 2024 to serve students across the South East, aiming to become a hub of excellence for the teaching of the mathematical sciences.

We are looking to appoint a creative, knowledgeable and enthusiastic computer science teacher to join us in September 2026.  In this unique environment, all students are studying maths and further maths enabling our computer science curriculum to be developed in such a way to really deepen students understanding safe in the knowledge that all students have the key maths skills to succeed.

We are a collaborative school and committed to team planning meetings in which we can discuss the approaches, concepts and resources to be used.  Everyone has a voice and a chance to contribute to the development of the curriculum.  We are looking for an inspirational teacher whose values align with our school and who will work with us to actively promote equity and diversity through the planning and delivery of inclusive lessons.

There is much flexibility in the role on offer, currently advertised as 0.6-1FTE, but do get in touch to discuss if you have a different preference.  We are also open to hearing from candidates who are able to teach maths, physics, cemistry or economics alongside computer science. This is a unique opportunity to work in an environment where there is real excitement and enthusiasm for the mathematical sciences and where you have the chance to shape the minds of the future as part of a dedicated and supportive team.

At Surrey Maths School you will be part of a small, enthusiastic team working with students who are driven and excited by mathematical sciences. Take a look at our SuMS information pack for prospective staff for more information about the broader school and what you can expect from working with us.
