Join our vibrant and ambitious SEND department as we seek a committed and inspiring individual to help shape the future of our students. We run an impressive SEND Hub provision which is tailored to meet needs for our children through targeted intervention spaces for lower school Nurture Groups and an EBSNA Group. You would work within The Hub to deliver tutoring to small groups or 1:1 for children with SEND, working outside of mainstream lessons and targeted intervention for children needing additional support.

About the Role:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons within The Hub at the school which provides 1:1 and small group support for students struggling to attend mainstream lessons. You will be supported by our Deputy SENCO and Progress Mentors based within The Hub.
  • Design lessons to meet students needs many of which have EHCPs.
  • Deliver lessons for children in KS3 + KS4 who are typically working below age related norms. Support KS4 students with tutoring to support access to GCSEs or where decided Functional Skills.
  • Foster a supportive and inspiring learning environment that nurtures a lifelong love for English and Maths.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing feedback to support their development
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and extra-curricular activities
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the SEND Department and link with the English and Maths department to provide consistent teaching where relevant for children out of mainstream lessons.

 

 

About you:

  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
