Location: Based in Middlesbrough to work across our schools in Middlesbrough, Redcar, Stockton, North Yorkshire and York 


We are looking for an outstanding HR Officer to join our team for maternity cover. The role of HR Officer will play a key part in delivering a high quality HR service across our Schools and the Central Team.  


Nicholas Postgate Catholic Academy Trust is a family of 32 primary schools, and 6 secondary schools. With more than 12,300 pupils and 1,500 staff, the Trust is now one of the largest Catholic Multi Academy Trust in the UK.  


You will undertake a range of HR activities, including:

  • Act as a first point of contact for HR queries, providing guidance on policies and procedures and ensuring compliance 
  • Support with employee relation matters e.g. sickness absence, initial disciplinary /grievance issues, performance concerns and flexible working meetings
  • Provide advice and guidance on HR systems 
  • Support end-to-end recruitment processes, including onboarding and safer recruitment checks
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HR system data 


This role will suit someone with previous experience working in a HR or administrative role. Ideally you will be CIPD qualified (although this is not essential). You must possess exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills and have the ability to prioritise your workload so that tasks are coordinated effectively ensuring the needs of the Trust are met.
