St George’s is a joyful, family-friendly Roman Catholic primary school in the heart of

York. Rooted in the values of Kindness, Curiosity and Courage, we are dedicated to

helping every child “be the best that they can be – together.” With exceptional outdoor

spaces, a nurturing atmosphere, and a strong sense of community, our school is a calm

and creative oasis for learning.

Catholic schools are welcoming places to pupils and members of staff from all faiths

and none. More than a quarter of a million pupils and almost half of teachers in Catholic

schools are not of the Catholic Faith.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Support teaching and learning across a range of subjects.
  2. Foster a warm, inclusive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
  3. Support the implementation of our positive behaviour strategies.

  5. Work in close partnership with teachers, families and the wider school community.

The ideal candidate will:

  1. Be nurturing, reliable and committed to inclusive education.
  2. Share our passion for helping every child reach their full potential.
  3. Be flexible, reflective and eager to learn.
  4. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Embrace the values and Catholic ethos of our school (you do not need to be Catholic to apply).

We can offer:

  1. Enthusiastic children who are curious, independent learners
  2. Excellent personal and professional development opportunities
  3. An experienced and talented team of staff with a supportive Governing Body and wider School Church community
  4. The opportunity to be involved in the wider life of our Trust
