Your Role

Prestolee Multi Academy Trust are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Playworker to join the Before & After School Club team at Tottington Primary School. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with primary-aged children and have experience in a school, childcare, playwork or similar setting. A relevant childcare or playwork qualification is desirable but not essential.

Who We Are

As a group of schools, Prestolee Trust has a shared vision. We act as one organisation and bring context to individual needs. Our schools are geographically close and yet serve diverse communities. The vision describes the future that speaks to that community.

The vision for Prestolee Multi Academy Trust is that our children are prepared for the next stage of education and life in modern Britain. This means children have access to a broad rich curriculum offer with a wide range of activities. We believe in an inherently strong core of English and Mathematics, together with strong specific academic foundation subjects focused on knowledge and skills.

We strive for excellence in quality first teaching. Career progression opportunities and development of knowledge and skills through CPD, networks and other professional programmes and training are key to our success. Our trust is relentlessly focused on improvement; in self, in others and in the organisation.

The Role

As a Playworker, you will play a key role in supporting the effective daily operation of Tottington Primary School's Before & After School Club. You will help provide a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where children can relax, play and develop through a range of stimulating activities before and after the school day.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will:

  1. Support the planning and delivery of fun, engaging and age-appropriate play activities for children aged 4–11.
  2. Supervise and care for pupils, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and positive behaviour.
  3. Build positive relationships that support children's social, emotional and physical development.
  4. Create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child feels safe, valued and encouraged to participate.
  5. Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a high-quality before and after school club that reflects the values and ethos of the school and Trust.
  6. Promote safeguarding, health and safety, and positive behaviour at all times.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  1. Experience working with children in a school, after school club, childcare or playwork setting.
  2. The ability to create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where children can learn and play.
  3. Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and positive behaviour management.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  6. A warm, caring and child-centred approach.
  7. Good organisational skills with a flexible and practical attitude.
  8. A commitment to supporting children's social, emotional and physical development through play.
  9. A desire for continued professional development.

Our Offer

  1. A dynamic and developing Multi Academy Trust of schools with a SCITT for career development in teaching and learning.
  2. Opportunities across the Trust to widen skills, experience, and professional development in a variety of settings
  3. Welcome, friendly, and inclusive schools within the Trust
  4. A committed Trust and School leadership and committed multi school teams
  5. Well-motivated pupils
