Your Role

We are seeking an Examinations Officer to join our team. You will be responsible for the organisation, administration and compliance assurance of all internal and external examinations at Plume Academy, ensuring examinations and assessments are conducted in full accordance with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements, and that the security, integrity and reputation of the centre are upheld at all times.

The successful applicant will be educated to Level 3 standard and will demonstrate high standards of achievement and professionalism. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities of the Post Holder

The responsibilities of the postholder will be in accordance with the Examinations Officer job description and include:

·        Acting as the main point of contact for all awarding body examinations and assessments, providing professional advice to the Head of Centre on compliance, risk and administration.

·        Managing examination planning, entries, timetabling, rooming, invigilation and secure handling of confidential materials, ensuring full compliance with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements.

·        Leading and developing the Assistant Examinations Officer and invigilation team, including workforce planning, training, deployment and quality assurance.

·        Maintaining robust evidence trails and documentation to support inspections, audits and post-event scrutiny, preparing for and engaging with JCQ/awarding body inspections.

·        Supporting access arrangements and reasonable adjustments, and managing examination irregularities, special consideration applications and post-results services.

·        Proactively identifying and managing risks relating to malpractice, maladministration and operational disruption to safeguard the integrity of the examinations process.

Remuneration and Working Time

The hours required for the role are 33 hours over 4 days per week, term time plus inset days (39 weeks per annum), to include 4 examination results days in August, with self-managed flexibility. The postholder will need to be available earlier and later on some days to meet examination requirements.

Annual salary for this post will be in accordance with the Academy’s Support Staff Pay Scale, Band 4 Points 26 - 30, however, actual salary offered will be £23,730 per annum, pro rata equivalent of point 26 including an allowance for holiday pay.

Salaries are reviewed by national negotiation with effect from 1 April each year. Progression through the pay scale is subject to an acceptable performance management review process.
