Your Role

We are:

The Royal Alexandra and Albert School exists to give our children a distinctly different start in life, preparing them for the world with hope, optimism, compassion and empathy.

We are a ‘Good’ school (Ofsted, April 2024), which is vibrant and purposeful. We are a co-educational, non-selective state boarding school, for children aged 7 - 18. This is a boarding school with Flexi Boarding students attending from the local area and a lively community of around 400 Full Boarders, passionately involved in a wide range of after-school and weekend activities and trips.

Our Ofsted inspection of March 2024 states ”pupils are happy and well cared for at Royal Alexandra and Albert School. They benefit from positive relationships with staff across the school. Pupils feel safe, confident that if they report any concerns or worries they will be dealt with”.

We offer:

  1. A strong induction programme
  2. Professional, supportive and committed staff team
  3. Beautiful estate set in 260 acres of parkland
  4. Convenient location, close to the A23 and M25
  5. Free on-site parking

We are looking for:

An exceptional Teacher of Media Studies who can provide highly effective and innovative teaching of Media across the senior school, to ensure that all our pupils make excellent progress and inspire students to have a passion for the subject. Applications from ECTs are warmly welcomed.

Media Studies is a popular subject at KS4 and KS5. It is not taught at KS3 and therefore the ability to teach a second subject is desirable.

Please be aware that we run a compulsory Enrichment programme for all students on a Saturday morning between 9am - 11.30am, and this is part of a full-time teacher’s contract. In return, the school breaks for the summer in early July each year and has a two week October half-term.

The successful candidate will be:

• Passionate about the teaching of Media

• An excellent practitioner

• Enthusiastic about his/her own professional development

For full information about the role, please see the attached Job Advert and Job Description.

We reserve the right to interview and appoint prior to the closing date of the advertisement.
