Our Ofsted inspection of March 2024 states ”pupils are happy and well cared for at Royal Alexandra and Albert School. They benefit from positive relationships with staff across the school. Pupils feel safe, confident that if they report any concerns or worries they will be dealt with”.
We offer:

We are looking for a Teacher of Mathematics who is:
- Passionate about high quality teaching and learning
- Offers inspirational and caring guidance for young people,
- Works collaboratively, asks questions, and is keen to learn
You will need to have the commitment and enthusiasm to be part of a lively, well managed and successful team. The staff in the Mathematics department enjoy their work and strive to deliver interesting and stimulating lessons. There is a supportive climate in which there is much cooperation, resulting in detailed schemes of work and excellent resources. The school follows the White Rose maths scheme of work from KS2-4. In KS5 the Edexcel Pearson texts are the Core resource with Dr Frost resources used in conjunction.
There is an extensive enrichment programme in place to extend our most able students and a Numeracy intervention programme to support lower attainers. Examination results at KS4 are well above National Standards with well over 80% of students achieving a grade 4 or above. In KS5 over 60% achieved a grade A or above in Mathematics A level. Further maths is also offered at KS5, although experience of and interest in teaching KS5 is not necessary for this appointment.
The successful candidate will be given full support and will engage in further professional development as part of RAAS’ commitment to ongoing training of all teachers. The successful applicant is also likely to be a KS3 form tutor.
Please be aware that we run a compulsory Enrichment programme for all students on a Saturday morning between 9am - 11.30am, and this is part of a full-time teacher’s contract. In return, the school breaks for the summer in early July each year and has a two week October half-term.
