Your Role

We are looking to expand our curriculum in time for our second year as a brand-new educational provision. This is opening up further opportunities to join our amazing team at Red Balloon Aylesbury.

This advertisement is for a HUMANITIES Teacher & Learning Mentor. The post holder will teach History and/or Geography at GCSE, as well as project-based humanities sessions at KS3. The ability to teach RE, or English across KS3/4 would be an added bonus.

Our learners come from all walks of life, diverse backgrounds, and with different needs - our workforce should also reflect this so we can engage, encourage, and inspire our learners to be themselves.

You will need to be caring, empathetic and dedicated to help develop abilities, and foster self confidence in our young people.

The post holder will work alongside other staff in our small and nurturing team to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with our learners, their families, and other professionals supporting them. This role would suit highly experienced, qualified secondary school teachers. An understanding of SEND and mental health needs amongst academically able young people is essential.

This is a part time position which could range from approx. 0.30 – 0.60 FTE depending on which subjects can be offered.

We are open to discussions regarding hours and subject combinations and we can be flexible for the right candidate.
