Your Role

BBG Academy is looking to appoint an Attendance and Welfare Officer to join our committed and dynamic team to help secure the beneficial and regular attendance of all students of the academy. Successful candidates will have relevant experience of working with students and families, as the role involves supporting them, working closely with other external agencies.

Excellent communication and organisation skills, a meticulous attention to detail and a pro-active attitude to problem solving are essential. Continually striving to achieve the best attendance levels for all and where necessary, carrying out the statutory duty of legal action. Working as part of the Resilience Academy Attendance team, helping devise strategies to maintain high student attendance levels, improve punctuality and reduce unauthorised absence at the academy and across the Trust.

BBG Academy is proud to be part of Resilience Multi Academy Trust. The academy is oversubscribed, has achieved significantly above average Progress 8 scores in recent years and holds an Ofsted rating of good. The RMAT ethos of resilience, a Growth Mindset and Positive Discipline has helped to transform schools - from their culture to their Ofsted ratings - as well as the lives of students and teachers.

What makes RMAT different?

RMAT is more than just a collection of schools. We're a community dedicated to empowering students, academies, and colleagues to reach their full potential. We pride ourselves on being the kind of place people want to work – our academies are the kind of schools that teachers want to teach in.

We empower teachers with classroom autonomy, provide ongoing coaching for professional development, and value the contributions to student success made by all colleagues at RMAT. We combine classic educational values – excellent teaching, respect, good behaviour, and a strong curriculum – with a forward-thinking approach. We are a community that is constantly striving to learn, grow, and provide the best possible educational experience for all.

Our academies benefit from strong, supportive and compassionate leadership which creates a harmonious environment for staff and students alike. The RMAT community is a place where colleagues can develop their skills, find their own style and methods of teaching, learn and grow alongside their students, and feel that they are making a real difference to the lives of those they teach.

Did you know that?

  • 95% of staff agree or strongly agree that they enjoy working at the Trust
  • 92% of staff would recommend working at the Trust to a friend.
