Your Role

Are you an ambitious, outward-thinking leader ready to partner with a high performing senior team to transform post-16 education?

At St Mary’s College part of the St Cuthbert’s Roman Catholic Academy Trust we are preparing our students not just to pass exams, but to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. We are seeking an exceptional Head of Sixth Form who can join our established leadership community, engage with our current ways of working, and lead our Post-16 provision into its next phase of innovation and success.

The Opportunity

This is a pivotal leadership role for an educator who blends strategic clarity with strong relational skills. Rather than working in isolation, you will work alongside our existing senior staff to understand what makes St Mary’s College exceptional, honouring established best practices while collaboratively remodelling our post-16 curriculum and provision.

With government reforms reshaping technical education, Hull sits at the vibrant epicentre of regional opportunity. From green energy and advanced manufacturing to digital technologies and healthcare, our city offers an incredible landscape for vocational pathways. You will capitalise on these regional strengths, integrating A Level excellence with T Levels and new V Levels, to build industry-backed career pipelines that guarantee true future employability.

What We Offer

• Join a senior team grounded in trust, psychological safety, and mutual support, where your vision will be matched with strong leadership backing.

• The mandate and resource to rethink, remodel, and elevate post-16 provision across academic and technical disciplines.

• Hull’s dynamic industrial growth provides unmatched potential for regional employer partnerships and work placements.

• Executive coaching, trust wide networks and clear pathways within a forward thinking Multi Academy Trust.

• A school community built on respect, dignity, and the mission of helping every student and staff member flourish

Who We Are Looking For

You are a proven leader with experience in large educational settings, equipped with the vision to anticipate national trends and the humility to engage deeply with existing teams. You are an active listener who values current ways of working while inspiring staff toward new heights of excellence. Outward looking and collaborative, you will forge strong civic and industry links while ensuring every young person discovers their true vocation.

For a confidential discussion about the role, or to arrange a visit to the College, please email Helen Ashton, who will be happy to coordinate arrangements with the appropriate members of staff - HAshton@scrcat.org
