This is an exciting opportunity to join our Multi Academy Trust at a time of transformation and growth.

We are looking for a professional, organised and enthusiastic Finance Apprentice to provide high-quality finance support to our Central Team. Working alongside experienced finance colleagues, you will learn the fundamentals of finance administration and education finance, supporting the day-to-day operation of the Trust's finance function.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Assist with the processing of purchase orders, invoices, receipts and payments in accordance with Trust procedures.
  2. Support the purchase ledger process, including matching invoices to purchase orders and ensuring records are complete and accurate.
  3. Assist with raising sales invoices and maintaining accurate records of income due to the Trust.
  4. Support the reconciliation of supplier statements, credit card transactions and other finance records.
  5. Help investigate and resolve supplier, customer and internal finance queries.
  6. Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on the Trust's finance systems.
  7. Support the preparation and collation of information required for month-end and year-end processes.
  8. Assist with routine financial administration and filing activities.
  9. Support the Finance Team with audit requests and the retrieval of supporting documentation.
  10. Use Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, to maintain records and update financial information.
  11. Attend apprenticeship training sessions and complete all learning activities required as part of the apprenticeship programme.
  12. Apply learning from the apprenticeship qualification to workplace activities.
  13. Develop an understanding of financial controls, confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection requirements.
  14. Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Trust and provide a professional and customer-focused service.
  15. Contribute ideas for improving administrative processes and ways of working.
  16. Undertake other duties commensurate with the nature and level of the post.

There are many good reasons to work with us. We have a real sense of community, striving to make a difference to children’s education. You will be part, too of the wider Archdiocese family and in the company of some of the best people in education. We also offer a variety of benefits, such as:

  1. Competitive salaries and pay progression
  2. Flexible working
  3. Access to extensive professional development opportunities
  4. Generous pension scheme
  5. Employee assistance programme
  6. Competitive terms and conditions of employment

The list is not exhaustive and will grow as the Trust matures.

This role is based at the Trust’s central office in the Port of Liverpool Building. The role also requires travel to the schools, when needed. We are keen to understand how this role could work for you and are open to consider flexible working options.
