Your Role

Midday Assistant & Playworker

Could you make lunchtime the highlight of a child's day?

At St Nicholas Catholic Academy, we believe every moment of the school day provides an opportunity for children to feel safe, valued and inspired. We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Midday Assistant & Playworker to join our dedicated team and help create a positive, enjoyable lunchtime experience for our pupils.

This rewarding role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children, encouraging active play and promoting positive relationships in a warm and welcoming Catholic school community.

What you'll be doing

As part of our friendly lunchtime team, you will:

  1. Supervise children in the dining hall, playground and indoor areas.
  2. Encourage imaginative and active play.
  3. Promote positive behaviour and support children's wellbeing.
  4. Help organise games and activities.
  5. Provide basic first aid support and record incidents where required.
  6. Maintain a safe, happy and inclusive environment for all pupils.
  7. Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure children enjoy a safe and positive lunchtime experience.

We're looking for someone who:

  1. Enjoys working with children and helping them thrive.
  2. Has a calm, caring and approachable manner.
  3. Works effectively as part of a team.
  4. Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  5. Supports the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
  6. Shares our belief that every child deserves an excellent education and outstanding care.

Previous experience working with children is desirable, but enthusiasm, reliability and a genuine commitment to supporting young people are equally important.
