We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and professional Business Support Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys working with people and takes pride in delivering excellent administrative support. As the first point of contact for many of our parents, pupils, visitors and staff, you'll help create the warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes St Nicholas such a special place to learn and work.

What you'll be doing

As a key member of our business support team, you will:

  1. Welcome visitors, parents, pupils and staff, ensuring everyone receives a friendly and professional experience.
  2. Manage incoming telephone calls, emails, messages and enquiries efficiently.
  3. Support the administration and maintenance of pupil records, ensuring information is accurate, secure and up to date.
  4. Assist with attendance monitoring, admissions and transition processes.
  5. Prepare correspondence, newsletters, forms and academy communications.
  6. Support school meal administration, including maintaining pupil records and generating reports.
  7. Assist with financial administration, including purchase orders, invoices, payments and reconciliations.
  8. Maintain office systems, filing and information boards to the highest standards.
  9. Provide essential administrative support for academy events, projects and day-to-day operations.
  10. Contribute to the smooth running of a busy academy office where no two days are ever the same.

We're looking for someone who:

  1. Has excellent organisational and time management skills.
  2. Enjoys working with people and building positive relationships.
  3. Demonstrates outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  4. Has strong ICT skills, including Office 365 and email systems.
  5. Works accurately and pays close attention to detail.
  6. Can prioritise workloads and remain calm under pressure.
  7. Is flexible, proactive and willing to support colleagues wherever needed.
  8. Understands the importance of confidentiality and professional integrity.
  9. Believes every child deserves an excellent education, regardless of background.
  10. Supports and promotes the Catholic ethos and values of our academy community.
