Your Role

Are you an experienced and passionate teacher with a commitment to ensuring every child can thrive? We are seeking an inspiring and knowledgeable Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to lead and develop inclusive practice across two welcoming and ambitious primary schools: Slade Primary School and Deykin Avenue Junior & Infant School.

This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively across both schools, providing strategic leadership for SEND while supporting staff, pupils and families to achieve the very best outcomes. As this is a non-teaching position, you will have the time and capacity to focus fully on developing high-quality SEND provision, working alongside school leaders and staff to ensure every child receives the support they need to succeed. This is a non-teaching SENCo role, allowing dedicated time to lead and coordinate SEND provision across both schools.

Key responsibilities

  1. Lead and coordinate SEND provision across both schools.
  2. Ensure pupils with additional needs receive high-quality, inclusive support that enables them to achieve their full potential.
  3. Work closely with senior leaders, teachers, support staff and external agencies to develop effective provision.
  4. Champion inclusive teaching and learning, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.
  5. Support and coach colleagues to develop their confidence and expertise in meeting a wide range of learning needs.
  6. Build positive relationships with parents and carers, ensuring they are valued partners in their child's education.
  7. Monitor the impact of interventions and provision, using evidence to drive continuous improvement.
  8. Provide strategic leadership for SEND without a teaching commitment, enabling you to focus on driving improvement and ensuring the highest standards of inclusive practice across both schools.

We are looking for someone who

  1. Is a qualified teacher with successful classroom experience.
  2. Holds, or is willing to work towards, the National Award for SEN Coordination (if required).
  3. Has a strong understanding of SEND legislation, guidance and best practice.
  4. Demonstrates excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  5. Has a proven track record of improving outcomes for students with additional needs.
  6. Is committed to inclusion, high expectations and student wellbeing.

We Offer

  1. A competitive salary, including a TLR
  2. The opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young people.
  3. A supportive and collaborative staff team.
  4. High-quality professional development and leadership opportunities.
  5. An Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and employee benefits package
  6. Competitive pension scheme (Teachers’ Pension Scheme)
  7. Professional development and wellbeing days
