Brookvale Primary School is seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and committed Learning Mentor to join our dedicated and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference to children’s lives and supporting them to overcome barriers to learning. As a Learning Mentor, you will play an important role in helping pupils to develop positive relationships, build confidence and resilience, and become increasingly independent. You will provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, helping children to engage positively with their learning and feel confident within the school environment. Working closely with teachers, families and other professionals, you will contribute to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels valued, supported and able to achieve their potential.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Is caring, enthusiastic and committed to supporting children and young people.
- Has experience of working with children in an educational, pastoral or similar setting.
- Can build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Has a good understanding of the barriers that can affect children's learning, wellbeing and engagement.
- Is able to provide appropriate support to help children develop confidence, resilience and independence.
- Works well as part of a team and can build positive relationships with teachers, families and other professionals.
- Is patient, calm and able to respond sensitively to individual needs.
- Has a positive and inclusive approach and is committed to helping every child achieve their potential.
