FIXED TERM CONTRACT – MATERNITY COVER

REQUIRED MONDAY 20TH APRIL 2026

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate EYFS Class Teacher.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching to EYFS pupils. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic school environment, making a positive impact on children’s educational journey.

At St Catherine’s, we grow together in God’s love. Our school is full of happy people, busy classrooms, and caring friendships. Every child is nurtured through a rich and exciting curriculum, guided by wonderful teachers who help them reach high standards — but life at St Catherine’s is about so much more. Here, every child is given the chance to shine, to try new things with confidence, and to believe that they can succeed. We celebrate each other’s gifts, show kindness and respect for everyone’s beliefs, and take joy in each other’s achievements. St Catherine’s is a place of laughter, wonder, and lasting memories — a family where, together, we flourish.

We believe that it is these things that make our children lively, confident and articulate and is why they move on to fulfilling lives built upon the Christian values and strong foundations laid in the school.

WE ARE SEEKING A PASSIONATE CANDIDATE WHO:

  • Is a qualified teacher with experience in EYFS, who demonstrates consistently good or outstanding practice, who has a passion for teaching and learning that is seen through quality first, creative classroom teaching and pupil engagement.
  • Will motivate children to work hard and try their best through passing on to them their infectious enthusiasm and passion for learning!
  • Will actively share good practice and seek to explore ways to improve their own and others’ teaching.
  • Will work hard to ensure all pupils make at least expected progress irrespective of their starting point and individual needs.
  • Will understand that behaviour management starts with the quality of teaching in the classroom.
  • Will demonstrate personal resilience and role model those personal qualities we wish to instil in our young people.
  • Has a collaborative and caring approach to supporting pupils and colleagues.
  • Has energy, creativity, and a genuine passion for teaching and learning.

YOUR MAIN DUTIES WOULD BE:

To teach primary aged children as identified by the schemes of work.

IN RETURN, WE OFFER:

  • Continuous Professional Development (CPD): Access to National College training, subject-specific CPD, leadership pathways, and mentoring programs.
  • Career Progression: Clear pathways for growth, from early careers to leadership roles. We use a ‘touchbase’ informal approach to focus on professional development as well as an annual career conversation with your manager!
  • Wellbeing & Support: Leadership training focused on wellbeing, mental health resources, and staff networks.
  • Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI): Commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace, with ongoing EDI training and initiatives.
  • A paid premium to a Healthcare Cash Plan to claim back contributions towards dental, optical and other medical costs via UK Healthcare.
  • 24/7 access to an Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Amazing benefits and discounts via UK Healthcare.
