Do you have a passion for keeping young people safe and supported? Are you a master problem-solver ready to help students smash attendance barriers, build great habits, and navigate college life?
If you answered yes to these questions, then we want to hear from you!
At Blackpool Sixth, we specialise in 16-19 education and pride ourselves on being a first-class college where students thrive. We are seeking a proactive, empathetic, and organised Safeguarding and
Attendance Officer to join our Student Services team. Working across the college, you’ll be a key player in boosting student engagement, providing timely interventions, and ensuring our campus remains a safe, welcoming, and high-achieving environment for everyone.
Whether you're stepping into educational support with a strong background in youth work, administration, or welfare, or looking to build on an established pastoral career, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
Our Student Services department is collaborative, high-performing, and student-focused, with a strong track record of success. You’ll be joining a highly experienced and supportive team that shares resources, ideas, and a genuine commitment to helping every student succeed.
A day in your new role could see you:
- Playing detective to spot early attendance patterns and step in before minor dips turn into major road blocks.
- Being the chief problem-solver, designing personalised improvement plans to get individual students back on track.
- Wearing the safeguarding hero cape as you manage referrals and ensure student welfare stays front and center.
- Rallying the support network by teaming up with families, staff, and external experts to give students the backing they need.
- Welcoming the next generation by smoothing the jump from high school to college and locking in great habits early.
- Setting the standard, and diffusing sticky situations with calm-and-collected diplomacy.
- Mastering the multitask by keeping clean, accurate student records and hopping onto Reception with a friendly smile when needed.
- Bringing the college energy as you dive into open days, enrolment buzz, and induction events!
