Your Role

The Dean Trust is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Girls' PE Teacher to cover maternity leave to join our dedicated team at Abraham Moss Community School, Crescent Road, Crumpsall, Manchester, M8 5UF.

The core purpose of the role will be to teach Girls' Physical Education at Key Stages 3 and 4, working as a member of the PE Department and demonstrating good practice in raising standards of achievement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Teach Girls' PE throughout the school, working as a member of the PE team under the direction of the Head of Department.  The ability to teach the GCSE PE Qualification is crucial to the role.
  • Work closely with the PE team in all professional matters to develop schemes of work that are differentiated, to ensure that there are effective teaching strategies to give access to the curriculum for all pupils, to monitor and improve the quality of teaching and learning, and to set targets and plan for improvement, development and enrichment.
  • Work with the PE team and other staff to encourage high participation rates in sports opportunities including competitive sports
