Your Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated individual to work alongside the class teacher across all areas of the curriculum.


  • To deliver targeted interventions.
  • To promote inclusion through the development of social skills, language and emotional well-being.
  • To work under the direction of the class teacher and liaise with other professionals both within and outside the school
  • You will be expected to show a high degree of initiative and be able to react to given situations with integrity and compassion
  • There will an element of one to one work with children with SEND






Qualifications

GCSEs including Maths and English (Grade A-C/4-9) or equivalentessential

Able to promote inclusion of all pupilsessential
Able to interact positively with a group of children or on a one-to-one basisessential
Aware of the expectation to approach difference positively and able to adopt an inclusive approach to pupils of all backgroundsessential
Able to use ICT equipment e.g. iPads, Chromebooksessential
Able to build effective working relationships with pupils and adultsessential
Good literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to at least level 2 of the National Qualifications Frameworkessential
Awareness of school policies and procedures relating to Child Protection, Health & Safety and Data Protection
Able to undertake structured and agreed learning activities, adjusting activities according to pupil's responses as well as working on own initiative
Good knowledge of the primary national curriculum
Able to manage children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and to be able to work effectively with them.

Experience

Experience of working with children/young peopleessential
Experience of working in a school or educational settingessential
Experience of working with children/young people with SEND
Experience of planning and delivering learning activities
