Brixington Primary Academy are looking for 2 enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated individuals to work alongside the class teacher across all areas of the curriculum.
The ideal candidate will:
- Build a strong, trusting relationship with a pupil who requires consistent, nurturing and emotionally attuned adult support to engage successfully in school.
- Support emotional regulation throughout the school day, using co-regulation strategies, sensory approaches and calm, predictable routines.
- Use visual supports, clear communication and structured transitions to help the pupil understand expectations and access learning.
- Adapt learning activities to the pupil's interests, engagement levels and preferred multi-sensory learning styles, working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo.
- Facilitate positive social interaction with peers, modelling communication skills, turn-taking and cooperative play.
- Provide regular sensory and movement breaks, maintaining a safe environment and responding flexibly to changing emotional and sensory needs
