West Kirby School & College is Seeking to Appoint a Dedicated Teaching Assistant (Level 2) for Maternity Cover

 

Salary Band: £21,229.60 - £24,351.60 (pt 12 - pt 16)

Contract: Working 35 hours per week, term time only

Fixed term for 12 months, starting 27th April 2026

Closing Date for Applications: Friday 13th February

Role Overview:      

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to join our school for 12 months maternity cover.

To excel in this role, you will have proven experience of working in a classroom environment and 1:1, preferably with pupils who have special educational needs including ASD, learning difficulties and/or behavioural difficulties.

You will possess patience, energy and enthusiasm and be prepared to engage young people with significant complex needs in sports, the creative arts, outdoor pursuits and life skills activities.

TAs work across the school with all our students however, there is the possibility this role may consist of 1:1 work

Qualifications

Grade C or aboveessential

NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification and/or experience. desirable
