Westminster Academy – an inclusive and forward-thinking school in the heart of London – is seeking a dedicated School Data and MIS Officer to join our dynamic support team.


As School Data and MIS Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining and developing the school’s data systems, ensuring accurate and meaningful information supports strategic decision-making across the Academy. You will coordinate our MIS, oversee statutory data returns, and provide high-quality analysis to inform teaching, learning and operational planning.

Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, teaching staff, support colleagues and external agencies, you will ensure that our data systems are robust, efficient, and aligned with our commitment to educational excellence. We are seeking someone with technical expertise and excellent interpersonal skills, who can confidently manage systems and support colleagues in making the best use of data.


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining the school’s MIS (e.g. Arbor), ensuring accuracy, functionality and compliance
  • Producing and analysing student performance, attendance, and behaviour data
  • Supporting target setting, assessment tracking, and internal reporting cycles
  • Coordinating statutory returns including School Census and DfE data submissions
  • Providing training and support to staff on MIS systems and data usage
  • Assisting with curriculum data, timetabling support, and student enrolments
  • Ensuring data protection compliance and promoting best practices in data management.


We’re seeking someone who:

  • Has significant school experience
  • Has previous experience managing school MIS systems (e.g. Arbor)
  • Brings strong data analysis and reporting skills (proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets essential)
  • Has excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Understands GDPR and the importance of data confidentiality and integrity
  • Can collaborate effectively with staff, governors, and external partners
  • Has a genuine interest in using data to improve outcomes for young people

The working basis for this position Term Time + 1 week inset + 3 weeks during school holiday periods (Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week).

This is an office-based role and will include school-wide activities and meetings.
