Your Role

We have a significant opportunity for a Senior Attendance Manager to lead strategies and systems to raise attendance levels and reduce persistent absence. You will coordinate the smooth operations of admissions and leavers while leading on all statutory functions, including legal prosecutions, Attendance Order Proceedings (CME), and Fixed Penalty Notices. We are looking for a strategic leader who can prepare complex court documentation while advising colleagues on whole-school attendance policy and legal sanctions.

The successful candidate will possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with families, senior leaders, and external agencies. You will need to demonstrate a collaborative approach, high-level data analysis skills, and the resilience to intervene early in patterns of persistent absence to ensure every student achieves excellence.

Why us? At Co-op Academy North Manchester, we take time to know our pupils and have the highest expectations and aspirations for them. Our pupils are polite and courteous and excellent relationships are at the heart of our success. The academy prides itself on offering a rich curriculum that includes an extensive range of extra-curricular activities and clubs for all pupils which promotes their understanding of the world in which they live and the difference that they can make within it. Our Safeguarding/PSHE/SMSC and Careers curriculum is a strength of the academy and pupils develop a range of skills that enable them to be confident to be who they want to be.

All our values are based upon the values of the Co-op Group, which will inform our behaviours.

  • Self-help: We do not expect to be spoon fed – we will try to do things for ourselves in the right way and at the right time.
  • Self-responsibility: Everyone should act in a responsible way around the academy site and in the local community. We take responsibility for our own learning; we want to become independent learners.
  • Equality: We are proud to be part of a very multicultural academy, with students from all over the world; it is important that we treat each other with respect and accept that others may be different from ourselves. We should all of us have equal chances to succeed.
  • Equity: We want to look for the best in each other. Rewarding others fairly to encourage all types of achievement.
  • Democracy: We will contribute our ideas to make the academy a success.
  • Solidarity: We can achieve more by working together, rather than as individuals.

Our Values Co-op Academy North Manchester’s vision is ‘Together we have the highest aspirations and expectations so that everyone achieves excellence in all they do and are equipped to lead happy and successful lives.’ The vision and values of the academy and those of Co-op Academies Trust are at the heart of all that we seek to achieve and are evident throughout the school.

Being part of the Co-operative Group, we are both guided and driven by the Co-op values which are embedded in everything that we do within our Academy - We strive to demonstrate the following ethical values in everything we do - they are our ‘Ways of Being’:

  • Succeed together
  • Do what matters most
  • Be yourself, always
  • Show you care

So, if you believe in our values, we would love to hear from you!

We offer a wide range of benefits and rewards to recognise the part you play in our success:

  • Co-op colleague discount card (10% off at Co-op Food, with double discount days).
  • Co-operative flexible benefits (cycle to work scheme, family care advice).
