Your Role

Are you an exceptional English teacher with the expertise, credibility and passion to influence practice beyond your own classroom?

Noel-Baker Academy is seeking an outstanding practitioner to join our team as Lead Practitioner of English, playing a pivotal role in raising standards of teaching, learning and literacy across the academy. In this exciting role, you will combine outstanding classroom practice with instructional coaching, professional development and curriculum leadership to secure excellent outcomes for all pupils, particularly disadvantaged learners and those with SEND.

Working closely with senior leaders and the English department, you will model exceptional teaching, support colleagues through coaching and mentoring, and champion evidence-informed approaches that improve pupil engagement, progress and achievement. You will be instrumental in developing reading, writing and oracy across the academy while helping to shape whole-school teaching and learning priorities.

We are looking for a highly effective classroom practitioner who:

  1. Has Qualified Teacher Status and a degree in a relevant subject.
  2. Has a proven track record of outstanding outcomes in English.
  3. Can coach, inspire and develop colleagues at all stages of their careers.
  4. Demonstrates excellence in teaching, curriculum delivery and assessment.
  5. Is passionate about improving literacy and removing barriers to learning.
  6. Shares our commitment to high expectations, inclusion and continuous improvement.

At Noel-Baker Academy, everything we do is driven by our belief that every child deserves an outstanding education. As part of L.E.A.D. Academy Trust, you will join a supportive and ambitious organisation that is committed to professional growth, evidence-informed practice and transforming life chances for young people
